Lawn Sprinkler
Systems Since 1957
How long will the installation take?
How long should the sprinkler
system last?
Your sprinkler system should last
you over 15 years. That is if it is properly maintained.
What type of maintenance is
required?
I think that sprinkler systems
should be tweeked and evaluated every 4 – 5 years. When the original sprinkler
system is installed it is designed to what the landscape looks like today. Unless the landscape stays exactly the
same way year after year it will need adjustments. Not a lot though. Maybe that
shrub has over grown a little and the sprinkler head is under the plant and
hitting the branches. A little work and the head can be moved a foot or two.
Basically … when the landscape changes, the sprinkler system should too.
Aside from the every 5 year
tweeking, the sprinkler system is really maintenance free. Turning on correctly
in the spring and proper winterization are really all that is needed. You will need
us to winterize the sprinkler system each Fall, but in the spring you can
actually turn on the system yourself. See our web page on proper turn on steps.
If you want to be completely hands off we have the service personel to provide
fast efficient service.
One thing I suggest to people is
to run the system on a test cycle on a Saturday or Sunday morning each week for
a couple of minutes each zone. This will allow you to walk around and see the
system in operation. Normal run time for the system is around 4:00am and most
people are not walking around their yard at that time.
